Workshop on DIKSHA Content Review for Quality Check

Dr. Mugdha Anand, the H.O.D. of the B.Ed. Department at St. Thomas’ College, Greater Noida, attended the workshop on the review of “DIKSHA Content for Quality Check,” conducted by CIET, NCERT, New Delhi, from 9 to 11 October 2024; 14 to 18 October 2024; which further extended from 21 to 25 October 2024. During these 13 days’ workshop, 45,422 E-Content linked with 370 NCERT textbooks were assessed and reviewed.. For NCERT Facebook Link (Click Here).

हिन्दी दिवस २०२४

“हिंदी देश का मान है, सम्मान है” – इस अनुपम भावना से भरे सेण्ट थॉमस कॉलेज ऑफ एजूकेशन के बच्चे और शिक्षक इस दिन को पूरी लगन से मनाने में जुट गये । कार्यक्रम का शुभारम्भ कॉलेज के डीन डा० एम० के० त्यागी के सम्बोधन के साथ शुरू हुआ जिसमें उन्होनें सभी को हिन्दी दिवस की बधाई देते हुए हिन्दी की महत्ता को समझाया, इसी क्रम में आगे बढ़ते हुए बी० एड० संकाय की अध्यापिका डा० कविता सिंह ने हिन्दी के भविष्य पर चर्चा की, उन्होंने बताया कि अब चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में भी हिन्दी भाषा में पढ़ाई होगी एवं डा० प्रियंका भारद्वाज ने अपनी मधुर वाणी में “मॉ भारती के भाल का श्रृंगार है हिन्दी“ गाकर सभा में उपस्थित सभी वर्ग को हिन्दी भाषा के प्रति अपने प्रेम से सराबोर कर दिया। सभा के समापन में विद्यालय की विभागाध्यक्ष डा० मुग्धा आनन्द ने हिन्दी दिवस की बधाई देते हुए सभी को धन्यवाद दिया। कार्यक्रम का संचालन विभाग की हिन्दी प्रवक्ता डा० पूनम पाण्डे के द्वारा किया गया। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन 13 सितम्बर 2024 को कॉलेज परिसर में डा० इन्दूबाला की देखरेख में किया गया।

Independence Day

St. Thomas’ College of Education celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, Students, faculty and staff members paid tribute to the nation and freedom fighters of India. It is a remarkable day when we honour and respect all our freedom fighters who fought for India’s freedom. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the national flag by the college Dean, Dr. M. K. Tyagi followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The event featured a spirited march by students and teachers, symbolizing unity and patriotism. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and sweets were distributed to all attendees to mark the occasion.

International Yoga Day

St. Thomas’ College of Education celebrated the International Yoga Day on 21stJune 2024. 

World Environment Day

St. Thomas’ College of Education celebrated the World Environment Day on 5th June 2024. As the students were in the middle of their annual exams, the faculty, admin staff, supporting staff and the Dean (Dr. Tyagi) had a small function to plant saplings where they planted saplings with the help of our college gardener, Mr. Sakichand. Dr. Tyagi (Dean-Academics) narrated his story as why planting trees become imperative based on his own experience in life. At the end, we took a pledge to protect and preserve our environment by playing our part in our day-to-day lives.

Fresher’s Party

St. Thomas’ College of Education organized a fresher’s party on 25th April 2024, for the B.Ed batch of 2023-2025. The event was structured into three categories: ramp walk, dancing and singing. Students performed a Naga – Rangmei traditional dance, followed by solo dance, solo singing and mesmerizing guitar performances. The event reached its joyous peak with a fashion show featuring various attire and accoutrement on Mr. & Ms. Fresher’s 2024 theme. Even though the main highlight was Mr. & Ms. Fresher, all the other events equally outshone. After three rounds of competition, Mr. Tiganlung Gonmei and Ms. Gaidunliu Phaomei were crowned as Mr. & Ms. Fresher.

Farewell Party

St. Thomas’ College of Education organized a farewell party on 25th April 2024, for the B.Ed graduating batch of 2022 – 2024. Since the B.Ed course spans two years, the first year student hosted the farewell party for their final year batch. Juniors offered prayers and expressed their best wishes to the senior for their future endeavours. The event commenced with an introduction of all 2nd year students, followed by a ramp walk. Additionally, they performed a Naga Cultural dance and group songs, which captivated the audience. Mr. Huzineiguang was chosen as Mr. Farewell while, Ms. Eli Chinglingkum was crowned as Ms. Farewell.

World Earth Day

On 22nd April 2024, B.Ed students celebrated World Earth Day. They were made aware of environmental conservation through posters and slogans promoting ‘Save Earth.’ Additionally, the students took a pledge to reduce their plastic footprint and protect our beautiful planet for future generations.

Report on Faculty Exchange and Student Exchange Programme in Satyam College of Education, Noida

A MoU was signed between St. Thomas’ College of Education and Satyam College of Education, Noida in the year 2021. In response to this, a Faculty Exchange Programme took place on April 15, 2024 at Satyam College of Education, where two of our college faculties were invited to deliver lectures. Dr. Poonam Pandey and Dr. Indu Bala Kushwah delivered lectures on “Trail Blazing” and “AI – A Life Skill in the Modern Era”. The B.Ed students from our college attended the seminar entitled “21st Century Life Skills,” which was part of the Student Exchange Programme.

Presentation and Felicitation of Value Addition Course

On 22nd March 2024, the B.Ed. department organized a presentation and felicitation program for the value addition course. The program commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by a prayer. The guest of honor was Dr. S.C. Panda (Vice-Chairman of St. Thomas’ College). Dr. M.K. Tyagi (Dean of St. Thomas’ College) delivered the welcome address. Dr. Mugdha Anand, Head of the B.Ed. Department, felicitated the guest and Dr. S.C. Panda presented the keynote address.

During the event, students presented their PowerPoint presentations on laws related to Women and Children. The closing remarks were given by the students’ mentor, Dr. Shailendra Godiyal. The program was highly successful, raising awareness about the rights of women and children, and the audience appreciated the students’ perspectives. Dr. Poonam Pandey, a faculty member of the B.Ed. department proposed the vote of thanks and the program concluded with the National Anthem.

PRIZE AND CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

On 22nd March 2024, the B.Ed. Department organized a prize and certificate distribution ceremony. Students of B.Ed. first and second year received certificates for their participation in various co-curricular activities, Scout & Guide camp and value addition courses. The first, second and third place winners received awards for their achievements in various activities.

ANVESHAN 2024

On 15th March 2024, Inter-Institutional Art and Craft Exhibition cum Sale (ANVESHAN -2024) was held at IPEM College in Ghaziabad (U.P.). Dr. Mugdha Anand and Dr. Poonam Pandey, along with four student participants represented St. Thomas’ College of Education. Students exhibited decorative pots and diyas, wall hangings, jungle safari by paper mache, puppets and woody wonders (beautiful handmade wooden items). Visitors to the exhibition shown keen interest in showcased handicraft items and praised our students’ hardwork.

Teacher Awareness Program

Teacher Awareness Program by Centre for Cultural Studies and Development (CCSD) was conducted on 9th Feb 2024. Odissi dancer Ms. Paulami Guha, represented CCSD and gave enlightenment about Odissi dance form along with a beautiful dance performance. She explained an importance of classical dance in culture presentation.

Scout and Guide Camp

Scout and Guide camp was organized at St. Thomas’ College premises on 9th and 10th February 2024. First day theory classes were conducted by Scout and Guide officials followed by practical activity and cultural programs next day. Students of B.Ed. second year participated in the camp.
 

 

CAPACITY BUILDING AND TRAINING WORKSHOP ON SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Capacity building and training workshop on solid waste management for segregation of waste for recycling and treatment (SORT) was conducted on 10th February 2024. B.Ed. students actively participated and gained knowledge about different kinds of waste, their segregation and conversion into resources through lectures with demonstration, activities and skit from Indian Pollution Control Association working in Delhi – NCR region.

 

FOUNDATION DAY

Foundation day program were woven around a special theme on 30th Sept 2023. It was an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast and festivity where managing committee, administrative staff, teaching and non-teaching faculty along with students actively participated and made the day memorable.
